Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great beach experience - we booked some beach chairs and umbrellas. This was a great beach / options for our younger and older kids. You could order drinks and some snacks, they were persistent in trying to get us to eat lunch at the restaurant. We initially were not going to, but decided to rather than walk 300 steps back to our villa. The lunch was really really good. It was simple but service was great. We had some initial questions about our seating, but the host and lead waiter checked on us many times to make sure the experience was good. Very happy. Highly recommend beach and restaurant.

Gavitella beach is two giant slabs of concrete on which you can rent a sunbed, expensively. There is little or no public area. The view is nice, as with practically every beach on the amalfi coast but a slab of concrete does not constitute a “beach like”experience to me.
Also the steps back up in 35 degree heat might be good training for an iron man but you will be saturated with sweat and exhausted if you are a mere mortal.

Nice beach, there are sun beds for the extreme price of €80 for two, half spent in food and drinks but it is still expensive. We stayed at the free spot. The beach has stones and it can be sometimes tricky to enter or come out of the sea as it hits strong waves. The water was clean and warm :)

Loved this place. It was their last day of the season. I enjoyed their Aperol Spritz and my two daughters enjoyed a cold swim. Beautiful little spot.well worth the hike down.

Ok, to start with - it's MANY stairs! Going down down down from Praiano centre we couldn't help thinking of the hike back up and mumbled to ourselves "It better be worth it, this beach!" And it really WAS worth it, the beach is just lovely! We passed the beach club with the deck chairs and loud thumping music (not our idea of relaxation) and found the pretty little bay to put our towels and have a relaxing swim with beaaaautiful views! 3 months after our trip it's still one of the loveliest memories of our Amalfi holiday. Worth the hundreds of stairs climb up, the sting of a jellyfish (luckily just one!) and the painful pebbles (totally bringing water shoes next time). Of course, it's something personal but for us this little secluded beach in mid October was the cherry on the cake, the perfect spot to enjoy La Dolce Vita.

Absolutely loved this cove.. Had the best time swimming and just chilling with our beers. The walk is a little steep. But we'll worth it. Don't miss it!

Spiaggia della Gavitella is a lovely excursion from Praiano starting from Piazza San Gennaro. You follow a sweet sidewalk with high walls in which with ceramic art of sea life is embedded. The path to the beach includes 400 steps, so you must be prepared for the return trip. But what's better than a dip in the sea followed by an exhilarating climb?
Although there's no official beach, you have access to the water from various points on the concrete platforms. We opted for the ladder into the sea as opposed to the concrete steps, which were slippery! Once you're in the refreshing water, bask in the gorgeous views of the Amalfi coastline.

A small quiet beach with beautiful clear and warm water. Don't expect a sandy beach or a comfortable place to lay down but it's all part of the charm. Definitely worth the 300+ steps to get to.

This place was close to where we were staying 10 min walk, nice cafe on the pathway down, coffee was also great.
Very much a locals spot this beach with plenty of young kids having good fun diving and swimming around
Easy to locate a few steps like most places around here but not as much as other places
Follow the tiled signs on the walls to la Spiaggia (the beach)
Water was clean clear good spot for snorkeling, rocks pebbles beach no sand
The beach club 20 eu for a sun bed a bit too rich for me
Sure the beach is not as good As an Aussie beaches but we aren’t in Aus, so it’s good as it gets imo lap it up.
Take a beach umbrella there are holes drilled in the concrete along the boat ramp, what a great idea!
The boat ramp is clean smooth and a great spot to lay down, with a gentle slope it’s perfect.

This beach is big pebbles & is tough to walk on. But it seems all of the beaches on the coast are similar. We spent several afternoons here in the sun & swimming. You can get in and out of the water with a rope on the big rocks. It was entertaining watching locals put their boats in & out of the water. Around the corner is One Fire Beach which they have the watermelon ceremony at 4 or 4:30 each day which was super fun to watch. You can also swim on the other side but we heard drinks were pricey as are the sun chairs. You can sit for free on the public side! it is a LONG walk down, maybe 600 stairs or so but it is totally worth the hike!

Ciao a tutti!
Grazie
