Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

quite an experience, the place is beautiful and still in its natural state, except for a little bar close by. it is difficult to get in as there are many small sharp stones, so shoes are advisable.

This lake is a must visit. Such a wonderful spectacle when driving by car and suddenly the view opens up to this incredible scene.
The lake is not artificial. It's the basin of an extinct volcano..several of them on the island.
Try the mud, cover yourself with it, walk around the lake to dry up and then wash it off!!

I have visited this fabulous lake/lagoon recently with friends, probably the only place in Pantelleria where you can have a walk "by the sea". The "specchio di Venere" is in the middle of the mountains of Pantelleria, crystal clear blue water (and no jelly fish!) where you can find mud containing sulfur that you can use on your skin, leaving it roughly an hour bafore washing it away and feel your skin amazing soft and young!
If in Pantelleria, you can't miss this place!

Really stunning place, you must stop by at least to drive by. Drive behind the lake and up the hill for even better views

I can't describe the wonder!
We went with the hotel shuttle, we did the sludge and we bathed.
Lago di Venere was is one of the best thing in Pantelleria!

Pantelleria is unique, I didn't understand whether I like it or not, but I cryed when we left. Lo specchio di venere has some hot pots to sit in and contemplate on how it will be, when you are old. Then you cover yourself in mud, let it dry and go for a swim.

This small lake is some kind of a natural, free beauty farm. It's one of the few activities one can do when the Maestrale wind prevents a safe swim in the sea.
Enjoy yourself in a natural mud bath and wait until it gets dried for about 20 minutes or so. Once you wash the mud out, you feel as re-born and your skin will be as soft as a baby's.
Beautiful experience.

The beautiful changing colours are mesmerising.
We were at the lake first thing a.m. they say to first bath in hot spring waters, then cover in nearby mud baths....take a stroll around lake until mud dries...then wash off for a real cocoon experience.
Stunning setting...a must visit....even the bar is very cool with hammocks and relaxing setting;-)

Scenic walk around the lake and a natural volcanic spa with wonderful mud suitable for applying on your body and when dried- scrubbing it off and enjoying a swim. For best experience - go early! At 9 am there were 6 persons, at 11 am about 70 and more arriving.
