Address
Neighbourhood: Amager
In the eastern part of this neighbourhood, visitors will discover Amager Strandpark, a beach area which has become increasingly popular. It’s only a 30 minute bicycle ride or a 10 minute Metro trip away from the city center. Only a few hundred yards inland, some of the most creative musicians, artists, and writers in Copenhagen are occupying some of the old storage houses and production facilities. The western part is one of Copenhagen's most rapidly evolving areas, here you’ll find international architecture of the highest rank, the state of the art TV-Byen (the Danish pendant to BBC), a golf course as well as Copenhagen's best (and tiniest) ice bar.

- Lisa-MarieMelbourne, Australia92 contributionsBEAUTIFUL Aquarium, full of wonder!Beyond overwhelmed by the beauty and wonder of this aquarium. Interesting selection of creatures to observe. The Aquarium is well designed, with plenty of space - I didn’t feel overwhelmed by crowds. Super chill visit. But let me tell you about the best bit: this Aquarium has a man-made rainforest replica you can walk through which honestly feels so natural, even the humidity is spot on. Fascinating mix of animals, birds and insects! I could have stayed there for hours. Cute little cafe and gift shop on site. Do visit, worth it!Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 March 2023

Great range of interesting animals. Loved the sea otters and rain forest area. The bi-lingual information screens were really helpful and interesting. We went late afternoon before heading to the airport for an evening flight which worked really well. We joined Julius for a behind the scenes tour which was a wonderful experience - we learnt so much and it was wonderful to see his enthusiasm.Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 10 April 2023
- Robin W. FoodCroatia100 contributionsHypnosis and contemplationGetting to the National Aquarium is not difficult – you can reach it from the center of Copenhagen in 12 minutes by metro, and then walk for an additional 8 minutes. However, it's hard to leave the aquarium; you'll find yourself wanting to spend the whole day there, hypnotically watching the sea creatures swimming around you. In addition to thousands of marine creatures, Den Blå Planet can brighten your day in more ways. For example, if you lack a sense of humor, tell a joke in front of the ray tank – they will surely smile at you. If you haven't had physical contact with another being for a while, go to the aquarium where touching the fish is allowed – they will affectionately approach you. If you want to stare at others, feel free to gaze at the piranhas – they won't mind here. Or if you just want to chat with someone, go to the restaurant and have a few Plankton beers – communication will flow smoothly afterward. In short, my visit to Den Blå Planet was pleasant and worth every Danish krone I bid farewell to with sadness. Before leaving the aquarium, I recommend contemplation on the loungers with a view of the Baltic Sea.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 2 September 2023
- Elin S5 contributionsNice!Lovely! We thought this was a cozy and fun activity! So beautiful animals, the place looked very good and the animals seemed to be treated very well! The people who worked in the restaurant seemed confused and stressed though.. no good service, they just walked around and didn’t talked to any of the customers. We waited for a long time!Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 October 2023
- Jayaseeli ChristiansenStenloese, Denmark356 contributionsIconic place! But too expensive parking for private event guests even in the night! We celebrated company day drinks followed by a dinner and dance at the Blå Planet! It was a ok place to enjoy with colleagues! Dinner menu was definitely not worth for the money (do not know how much company paid for?). During our event it was closed for the public, so only our company colleagues were inside. We had the chance to see fish only at the areas where our tables were set-up, the rest were closed! We were accompanied from Cocktail to the Dinner through the Rain Forest which was a nice experience! The parking cost a fortune even after normal opening hours! I paid 400kr. for about 8 hrs. which was also in the evening-night! Firstly, when they host such private events, they should not charge from guests as the company has paid a huge amount altogether for the event! Secondly, it was held in the night, normal parking charges should not be charged at all!Visited October 2023Travelled on businessWritten 25 October 2023

The location is fab as next to sea. We got the bus from the city which was easy and loved it. The sea otters were beautiful and the tunnel was lovely. Touch pools are available and good for kids or adults.Visited January 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 4 February 2024

The place is fantastic. I give 1 star for the food court. It's horrible. The food It's disgusting and expensive and people are throwing almost all the food in the bin. That chef they have should be replaced. I don't know what the management is doing but they do a bed job with the food in there🤦♀️

We love fishes and other animals and we looked forward to visit your aquarium.
And to be honest, we were very shocked. Why do you "displaying" fish, rays and turtles that people can touch? No one was there to stop the children from chasing or trying to catch the animals in the pool.
You write about species conservation and the protection of our oceans and our animals all over the world and at the same time you have a hall with a sloth, exotic birds or poison dart frogs and anyone could touch them, they cannot escape. Yes, you have sign, where it is written, "do not touch". But nobody control this.
It was so sad to see this. I had to cry after our visit. It is not the fault of the children, it is your responsibility. You have to protect these animals and not torture them.

Finally had the chance to visit this aquarium.
The place is very big, with 3 main sections and even a tropical forest part with birds, reptiles and even bats. There are also some areas to touch the animals directly and they have several events throughout the day
Personally, I would have loved to see more jellyfish as they're my favorite animals, but the selection here is great regardless. Special mention to the otters; they're just adorable.
10/10 for both casuals and aquarium lovers

If you are interested in marine-life, you should definetely consider a visit.
I had no idea there was a little "rainforest" here, that was a nice surprise. We got lucky and saw a sloth really close.

Very disappointed to arrive with my 3 kids to find it’s not included with Copenhagen card and would have cost over £100 to enter
