Top ways to experience Oerestad and nearby attractions

The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Amager
In the eastern part of this neighbourhood, visitors will discover Amager Strandpark, a beach area which has become increasingly popular. It’s only a 30 minute bicycle ride or a 10 minute Metro trip away from the city center. Only a few hundred yards inland, some of the most creative musicians, artists, and writers in Copenhagen are occupying some of the old storage houses and production facilities. The western part is one of Copenhagen's most rapidly evolving areas, here you’ll find international architecture of the highest rank, the state of the art TV-Byen (the Danish pendant to BBC), a golf course as well as Copenhagen's best (and tiniest) ice bar.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Although on the outskirts of Copenhagen, Oerestad has an excellent train station with connections all over the Greater Copenhagen area. Oerestad is a business focused area with a large shopping mall called “Fields.” I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers which was right next to the train station (very convenient). It is a nice place to stay to escape the bustle of Copenhagen but allow yourself to easily go into the city by train.

A nice alternative to all the activities in the center of Copenhagen is to discover the younger periphery of the town. Orestad is a new, modern outskirt in development (2016) with several living complexes, which are connected by artificial lakes as well as canals and not less than 6 above ground metro stations. This area is specially interesting to those people, whom are interested in architecture or whom are open to progressive forms of living neighborhoods. Start out your trip at Kongens Nyrtov and ride until Orestad Station. I recommend you spend half a day here and also pay a visit to the biggest shopping mall of Scandinavia called "Fields".
