About
The Shamrock Irish Bar is situated in the lively centre of Albufeira's Old Town . We can be found upstairs on the first floor next to The Hotel California shopping centre. As the only Irish Bar on the main 'bar street' (Rua Candido Dos Reis) it is popular with tourists looking for a unique experience! Throughout the season we play a variety of music including traditional Irish. Come along and join in our live sessions. If you're a budding musician yourself, we welcome you to rock out on the guitar or perhaps the tin whistle! The bar has three large screen satellite televisions, showing all premier football matches, rugby golf and horse racing. Of course we show GAA, Irish games. Fully air-conditioned - Three large screen satellite TVs - Pool table - Free Wi-fi- and of course,- Live music. Opening hours are from 12 noon on Saturday and Sundays and weekdays, 2pm to 2am (doors to the shopping centre close at 12:00am) so make sure you get there early! We are a little tricky to find, so keep an eye out for our Shamrock bar flags flying above the popular 'bar street'. Cead mile failte!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Me and my partner have been to the shamrock I’d say 7 times during our stay. It was such a lovely pub, the staff are super friendly and so lovely. We were able to watch footballs and formula one which was a bonus! Couldn’t recommend this place enough for drinks

Visited this bar a couple of weeks ago to watch the football. Nice and quiet compared to all the hustle and bustle below. And to top it off the guinness was really nice too

The most pseudo racist Irish singer (dreadful) called out our party spending €1000+ naming us “English c*nts” when a friend made a song request. Incomprehensible considering we are A. Irish B. The bar asked us to leave…. The most unimaginable level of service and treatment I’ve ever experienced.

I visited this bar 2 weeks ago and was very disappointed with tge whole experience. The bar is situated in a small shopping centre and does not have its own toilet facilities. The barman was rude and spent most of his time talking at the bar to the vendor across the corridor from the pub, meaning I had to wait to be served.
Very poor experience.

The singer was finishing up and he wasn't singing an Irish songs, so I asked the bar woman if she could play any Irish music as it is an Irish bar, she said she'd ask the boss, who mus have been an Englishman by listening to him speak but he said I'll see how the crowd is, so he never played any Irish songs so we left after a round of drinks

Went to Shamrock last Sunday night,
First of its upstairs so you have to really keep an eye out. When we arrived they had a guy on singing called Danny Maverick from Belfast.I have to say turned out to be great craic with some banter with the audience but not rude.He sing a good mixer of songs including country and Irish, but also did impressions of different singers which was very funny. The staff are so friendly and the prices are reasonable, sadly we were going home the next day but definitely would have returned.

How far is your bar from Oura Beach?
Victoria G
Albufeira, Portugal8 contributions
Oura beach is a pretty area near a steep hill called 'cardiac hill'. You will be close to the 'strip'.
Albufeira is a short 10 minute taxi ride away and the Shamrock Bar is just around the corner from 'fisherman's beach'.
The Shamrock Bar is in 'bar street' just off the main square next to Hotel California. We are upstairs inside the shopping centre and you will spot our flags flying above your heads!
