Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent, interesting and engaging museum with lots of enjoyable interactive elements. This is more about the artist's life, what influenced him and the effect his art had on his contemporaries and on art history in general, there are only a handful of (early) works, but you come away having a much fuller understanding of his work, and the times he lived through. There's also a wonderful little exhibition of Mondrian-inspired bird paintings. The teens (15 and 17) enjoyed it too and did some art of their own in the workshop at the end. Hopefully there are still tickets to the Mondrian exhibition at the Tate Modern in London, we weren't planning on going but feel inspired to now, it will certainly feel like a much fuller experience having been to the Mondrian House beforehand.

If the really nice short haired male museum person reads this, you are doing a fabulous job. It was really nice having a few things explained to me and you really made a difference to my visit. Loved this museum, so interactive and interesting. Well set out, paintings, history, studio set up. Absolutely fantastic and well done!

There’s not much to see in this small museum, there are no original Mondriaan paintings on display which was disappointing. The 3d light show was interesting. We also didn’t get the friendliest of welcome from the very stern lady in the reception area / shop.

Interesting holograms can be seen in the different rooms of his house. This is well worth a visit. Amersfoort is nice in general.

I only popped into the museum shop. Most of the things for sale were very expensive. I ended up buying a magnet and some postcards. The woman on the till was unfriendly and abrupt. Rude, even. They don’t take cash.

Very good museum about Piet Mondriaan (or Mondrian if you like). Additionally, there was plenty of artworks from guest artists who had some kind of relation with Mondrian's works. If you visit in Amersfoort, this you have to see.

Not really my cup of tea art wise but an interesting visit to the birthplace of a modern artist all A level art students will know of.

This was a wonderful visit. Two rooms with information on Mondriaan, a replica of his studioconcert Paris, two video displays, and a room with art inspired by Mondriaan. The second video display on its own made the visit worthwhile; a multi media artwork on Mondriaan’s New York period.
Highly recommended.

The understanding of the role of the nature that showed the cubical forms to a little Piet and rooted the creativity ideas which later were reflected in his creation, comes to you when you take the paths which lead to the house of Mondrian’s birth.
Cubical forms are everywhere in this little neighborhood of Amersfoort.
This musea is an eye opener to several unknown details from the life of Piet Mondrian and his early works. It’s also the place to discovery the talented artists who’re exposing in this museum.
The important aspect of this house-museum is that despite the non spacious size of it, it is wheelchair friendly!

A surprise to find a museum with such vim as this in the small town of Amersfoort. Whilst it does not have any originals of his famous abstract pieces it does have some of his earlier naturalistic paintings. What I liked was the use of different approaches to explaining the life and work of Mondrian. There are audiovisual shows, a mock up of his Paris flat, early paintings, a biography and his later influences on design. This museum has been thought about carefully and the atrium is even Mondrianesque in design. Worth the trip.
