Great Spot to Sample Wines of the Region
This is a really amazing vineyard and restaurant. It is only about a 5 min walk up the hill from old Monterosso and its a really nice opportunity to enjoy the contrast of the hills from the beach area. It is lush and gorgeous, providing a great view and atmosphere for dinner. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and we really appreciated the family run quality of the place. The food was very tasty and we especially loved the anchovy sampler (a must for the region). The wine was also really impressive - prior to arriving we booked online a tasting experience to accompany dinner and it included a glass of sparkling, 2 glasses of white, 1 glass of red, and limoncino with dessert. My husband was also looking to purchase a bottle of sciacchetrà (dessert wine of Cinque Terre) and our waitress was nice enough to bring us a sample; it may have even been our favorite of all the wines!!! The price of a bottle at the vineyard was also extremely reasonable compared to the markup of the shops in town. Overall, I would highly recommend this vineyard, even if you’re only looking for a wine tasting since they offer that as well!

    Worth the hike
We were provided lunch at this spot as part of a tour. The restaurant is off the beaten path but certainly well worth the walk. The food provided was local food matched with local wine. My wife is gluten intolerant and was provided with fish which was sensational. The pesto and pasta as part of the food tasting was very tasty and beautiful..

    Lunch surrounded by beauty
My sister and I spent a few hours at this wonderful vineyard. The staff were friendly and the food was amazing. We did the food and wine tasting pairing. The scenery was breathtaking. 7 acres of lemon Groves , olive trees and grapes surrounded us as we sat atop of this beautiful outdoor area to enjoy our lunch. I highly recommend that if you are in Cinque Terre, Monterosso al Mare, that you find this hidden gem. it is off the beaten path at the top of a rather steep hill, but it is worth the climb.

    Friendly and beautiful!
This was our family's favorite place to stay on our Italy trip! The farm is peaceful and beautiful. The food is delicious. The people are so friendly! In fact, they mailed my daughter's retainer to California after she left it behind! Above and beyond, for sure. It really is a short 5 minute walk from town.

    Great views, great food.
Breathtaking scenery. The last 50m of the walk up the hill were really steep, but absolutely worth it for the scenery and the food. Book if you can to avoid being disappointed at the end of the climb. The prawn and scallops appetiser was exceptional, and the wines were interesting and went really well with the food!

Buranco is located in a beautiful spot with fabulous grounds and a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, the dining experience does not match the environment. In our meal, we enjoyed one appetizer (mixed anchovies). Another was an interesting approach, but tasteless (fried octopus). For our entrees, we had wild boar, which was tasty, and speck and gorgonzola risotto, which was truly awful, with crunchy risotto and no taste (the risotto was not al dente, but appeared to be barely cooked). We asked our server to convey our concerns to the chef and he sent back the message that that's the way he makes it. We talked with several of the staff, including the manager, about our concerns and they were not interested in our observations or opinions. The service was slow, inattentive, and difficult to attract (we spent over 10 minutes trying to get our server's attention). The overall experience was one of a few interesting dishes, but mostly mediocre food served by indifferent people.

After great expectations of a fabulous meal because of reviews, our family of 6 arrive for a dinner on June 18, 2023. we had made reservations weeks in advance and on our 3 week travel time in Italy, this is the only restaurant that I am reviewing negatively. The food was mediocre, but worst of all was the abysmal service. The waitstaff was difficult to engage with or request service from and seemed more intent on playful interactions amongst themselves. The result was a painful and expensive night. It was a very disappointing juxtaposition to our very positive and memorable experiences during our tour in other restaurants both in Monterosso and also Florence, Venice, and Trieste.

The service was really not good—considering that in Italy people are always so “sunny”, friendly and overall charming, the attitude of the service in the restaurant was more than disappointing. We were served by Antonella and she was so unfriendly that even though the food was amazing, the place left a bad impression.

Popped up here earlyish on a a Thursday evening and they were happy to find space for us without a reservation. It was a very short walk up a slight hill from the old town.

All I can say is lovely meal, lovely wine, and great service throughout. Loved the anchovies and the catch of the day. The tomato and olive accompaniment will be appearing on my homes menu when I next cook fish!

I’ve been to a number of vineyards where they seem more interested in flogging you cases of wine, but the emphasis was very much on this vineyard being a restaurant and not a sales depot.

Given some of the reviews I was surprised at what a stylish and elegant restaurant this was/is. We had a lovely view over the lemon trees and vineyard, looking down onto Monterosso.

We also met Culo the dog, a beautiful lady, but as we had people near us who were scared of dogs, the owners put her inside.

Prices are no more than you would pay in the town for a similar meal, and this is a very special place.

The waiters were all excellent throughout, all young, effortlessly multi lingual, and with a nice gentle humour.

We enjoyed our visit here very much.

We made reservations 6 months in advance with deposit, and confirmed our 10 day stay prior to arrival. We had 6 in our family. When we arrived, they didn't have any rooms available even though they confirmed our rooms prior to arrival. The only thing they did was give us a free dinner and call a more expensive place to book us there. It was so unprofessional. They never tried to make space available at their place. I would not trust them at all even with documented reservations. We came from Texas and this was our first stop. Extremely disappointed.
