    Great view and area
Beautiful church. Don’t forget to see the panoramic view from the top. ( entrance to the left when you pass security.) If you are lucky and time it right you may hear the choir. Behind the church are great restaurants, shops for souvenirs and that’s where the artists hang out!

    Very impressive
We ended our walking tour here and then went inside. We loved the view of the city from in front of the church. We decided to climb to the top of the dome. If you are claustrophobic, don't do it. The spiral staircase if very tight, and there are a lot of stairs. But the view from the top is amazing.

Always one of the most picturesque places to visit in Paris
Always one of the most picturesque places to visit in Paris, situated in the vibrant Montmartre area with views of Paris, picturesque gardens, 2 minutes away from Le Place de Tetre famous for its artist square, ok there are less artists now the area having been taken over by restaurants but still worth a visit. Gorgeous building, the area in front of The Sacre Cour buzzes. A must visit in Paris

    Exceptional views!
Such a stunning location to visit - taking a tour of the Upper dome is an absolute must for some 360-degree views of Paris! Climbing the steps up can be tiring, but there is a funicular you can ride in for a small fee. Be mindful of those outside trying to sell you things, they can become quite rude and aggressive, especially for solo travellers.

Shhhh! silence please... services are ongoing. Gorgeous tons of iconography, stained glass, mosaics, statues to walk around and gaze at. Wish I could have found an audio tour.

    Top view and amazing church
It’s a place to visit. From button with amazing view of the church and a playground for kinds. The you get the funiculaire to go on top (10€ for a family of 4 people) and from top you can enjoy an amazing view of the city. It’s missing only Tour Eiffel since it’s a little bit on a side but if you walk you can see it. Then you can visit inside the church which is big and active. Religious experience. Top level

Such a beautiful place. Walk all round and explore
FREE to go in. Beautiful architecture. Can pay to go on roof top. Lovely views all round. Don't forget to explore the steps going up on the side and most importantly the village of Montmartre behind. Beautiful little place. Nice museum. Vineyard and lots to walk around.

    Must see
A cult church that seems to be dedicated to the victims of the Franco-Prussian War. It is visible from all over the city as it is on a hill. On my visit it was not well lit and I could not get a good look at it. There were huge crowds of people and there was a line to get in (maybe 20 minutes).

Can be challenging for the Handicapped but worth visiting.
The Montmartre is the highest elevation land area in Paris. The Sacre-Coeur Basilica sits on its highest point as the crown jewel of the Montmartre. From the steps one can see all of Paris. I am a handicapped person and use a mobility scooter, therefore I write from the perspective of one with mobility issues. The Montmartre itself is not handicapped friendly, with its steep cobblestone streets and many stairs. Accessing the Sacre-Coeur is easiest from the street behind it. Some taxis will let you off at this point. In the rear there is an iron gate with a speaker and button to push. Tell the person answering that you are handicapped and wish to visit and they will buzz you in. Once inside, the person at the desk will direct you to a lift (elevator) and tell you which button to push. When you alight, it’s easy to figure out which direction to go to the sanctuary. Keep in mind that there may be a service of some kind going on and you may not be admitted until it is over. This was the case when we visited. We were told that the service was almost over and we were welcome to wait. A nice man even knelt down next to me and explained what was going on. The service included some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard, so that too became part of the experience. Once the clergy processed out we were free to walk around. If you are trying to access the basilica from some other part of the Montmartre there are numerous stairs and steep cobblestone streets to get there from the front, even if you take the funicular up. The Montmartre is very challenging altogether for the disabled.

    Awe Inspiring Basilica
Long climb up from hotel , but once you get there you’ll be very pleased. Entrance is free. Little wait in line. Atmosphere is beautiful. Statues of saint inspiration. Stain glass is spiritual. You must go if anywhere in the area .

Beautiful monument and is deffinitley worth the visit
Be prepared for the climb and steps but there is trams at the bottom that go up and down and was €2.15 per trip! Bit pricey to be honest only on it for a minute or less.
I have visited the church before but I found it very pricey this time? Was nearly €40 so just heads up. It is worth it dont get me wrong but did find it pricey

Amazing place, fantastic views across the Paris city skyline, the church itself is well worth a visit, few down sides are the anount of steps from the metro station up to sacre cour that’s on top of the mass of steps to get out of the metro.

Also lots of of pick pockets there

You should definitely visit the Cathedral as it is one of the symbols of Paris. Right at the entrance, you will have a great view over Paris. Unfortunately, we were not so lucky as it was raining when we visited.

If you want you can leave a love lock at the fences. 🔒❣️Side note for the movie lovers, many films are shot there but most recently - John Wick 4 😄

Climb the hill to discover not only stunning views of the city sitting below you but also the beautiful church.

There is a queue to get through a security check and then entry to the church itself is free. A peaceful place despite being relatively busy and contains some beautiful statues and decorations.

There is a chance to tour the parapets for an additional fee but unfortunately this was unavailable on our visit.

I took an Uber to get here and they dropped me off at the top of the hill so I did not have to walk up all the stairs. The church has a long waiting line but everything moves along pretty quickly. Once inside you see how truly magnificent this church is. You can even walk up to the dome to get a fantastic view of the city. This is one place you must visit in Paris.

Had a wonderful experience. The food was great and had a nice tour of Paris. Transportation on the metro was similar to using the trains in the UK.

Well worth seeing!
We stayed in the Montemartre area so was on the doorstep.
Yes a little hilly and some steps but anyone reasonably fit should be able to do it ok (it’s not Everest!)
Beautiful building - it was very busy on Saturday so we just did the outside and then returned on Monday to do the inside when it was a little quieter.
An iconic landmark that needs seeing

Pearched high on the hill at Monmatre, the Sacre Coeur is a must visit place.

Being free, it can get quite busy, but is very spectacular inside, and I found the surrounding areas on the hill, and down are great to wander through and grab some food, or just mix with the local artists/shops.

You can take the steps up from the Metro, or the funicular depending on how fit you feel. It only cost €1, so won't break the bank!

The church itself is spectacularly but the area around it is awful. Full of groups drinking and partying with no respect for church or the religion it represents, groups of sleezy men, felt very unsafe. Had to get out of there before dark. Loads materials, dressmaking shops around very tacky, don’t know why these shops are here, ?? Lots of people wearing Sari & head coverings, rubbish being dumped by people, loud party music playing, shame on Paris for letting this happen outside such a beautiful building, police should clear the place away and only allow genuine visitors see it not people who have no respect for other religions

Definitely a must if in Paris for a holiday. The place is vibrant with a great atmosphere and ambience.
The church tower is a must for the Paris view, whilst the church is a place if reflection mediation and pray. If you seek a place for quietness and empty your mind then this place of solitude will work for you.
The surrounding district is thronged with tourists and is a venue for street artist who seek their wages with portrait sketches. If you decide to sit for a portrait you may wonder why you paid for all that botox treatments, my wife portrait makes her 30 years younger or maybe the artist should have gone to specsavers or taken less wine 🍷 2 hours sitting so make plans for this!
Good bars and restaurants in district. Get the funicular tram up it will save your legs especially if you wish to go up the dome of sacre coeur. 200 plus steps and then do the arc de triomphe later another 200+ steps.
