We booked a private group tour with guides. Most of the participants did not have experience riding Vespas or Mopeds, so it was nice to have a guide in front and one in the back, to help keep our group together. The tour was on main roads (not dirt or gravel roads). We made a stop at the small town of San Quirico and spent some time there. Then we rode on to Bagno Vignoni (where we went in the natural springs. (This was a highlight!). Then a scenic ride featuring the gorgeous approach to Pienza. Even though there were cars on the road, we felt safe. Glad we chose guided vs unguided so we didn't have to worry about the route.

Sadly this was one of our (few) honeymoon regrets. We were recommended by another couple who did this and had rave reviews. However, for us, it was a lot of money not well spent. Originally we had thought this would be our "vespa adventure" day, but in actuality, by this time in our trip, we were Italian Vespa veterans. We ended up discovering early that renting a vespa was our preferred way to see everything we wanted - we could go at our own pace, enjoy the experience itself, and cover a lot of ground. However, we had pre booked and prepaid, so we figured we'd at least get an insider tour and some guidance / explanation. However, when we got to the tour meeting spot outside Pienza, they had run out of Vespas, so our guide led us in a car (we trailed behind on Vespa). The car maxed at around 40 mph, and vespas and other cars were passing us right and left. A very vintage car, it blew black exhaust straight into our faces all day. When we did make stops, our nice, but very quiet, guide either didn't to want to tell us anything, or perhaps was new and just didn't have anything to share - i'm not entirely sure. We tried to ask questions to express interest / show we wanted to learn things, but it didn't work. The stops they had carved out for us were the most obvious, touristy spots, which we'd already seen all over Google maps. When we got there, our guide would snap a photo for us and then quickly urge us on to get to the next spot. We asked to change our route once we realized we'd be hitting things we weren't interested in, but then learned they had booked us a wine tasting so we couldn't do much modification or it would interfere with the reservation. Had we realized this would be included / pre paid, maybe our own fault for missing this, we might have asked up front to cancel. However, since it was what it was, we went to the tasting - it was awful. The wine was fine, but the tasting room was a cold, sterile, indoor space - the last place we wanted to be in the middle of a gorgeous day in June in Tuscany. It was a rushed and impersonal experience, and not a place I'd ever want to return or recommend. Anyways, the gist of it is that we felt like we paid 300 Euro ++ for someone to hop out of a car here and there to take a photo for us, and there was no other value ad. Instead, we would have preferred to rent our own vespas, and guide ourselves, with google as our guide, and without awkwardly having to trail behind and occasionally try to make conversation with an otherwise very quiet, uninformative (but kind!) guide.

It’s hard for me to describe just how much fun we had on our Vespa tour. It was everything we had hoped for and could have wanted. If you go to Tuscany and decide to skip this, you are doing yourself a disservice. No Vespa experience necessary! Stop thinking about it and do it, you won’t regret it!!
We zipped around the breathtaking Val D’Orcia, went to several gorgeous medieval towns, got with truly incredible views of the countryside, saw places where they filmed Gladiator, stopped at the best winery we visited in all of Tuscany, and just had so much fun laughing with and learning from our guide. We are going to recommend Vintage Tours to anyone we know that will be visiting the area. We had an absolutely amazing experience.

What and amazing experience with a truly lovely owner! The price is excellent compared. Good communication by email and WhatsApp if you have any questions. We hired a cute vintage fiat 500 and it was the highlight of our trip to the val d’orcia. It’s a walking distance if you are based in pienza if not u you can park your own car there for the day whilst you are enjoying the rental. They take there time with you to teach you how to drive their vehicles and available for support if you need any help on the way!!! Just an amazing experience. No hidden costs no extortionate prices or hidden costs!!! It’s literally the best way to explore the Tuscany!

Perfect! Service and communication was really good. We rented a Vespa for the day and were provided with some beautiful tours across the Tuscan countryside. I recommend this to everyone who wants to explore Tuscany by themselves on a Vespa or classic car.

We rent a scooter for a day trip and it was a wonderful experience. Warm welcome by the owner and the team and we choose our machine between beautiful Vespas (white and colorful) . They prepared a lunch box for the « pique - nique » , we download the trip and we enjoy a wonderful tour, stoping when we wanted and spent the time we needed, even for a peaceful rest !! We strongly recommend !!!

Decision to hire a vintage vespa was one of the best ones on our Tuscany trip. We really enjoyed it and kindly staff made sure that the process was very smooth - they showed us how to handle the Vespa, gave us a map with places worth seeing and provided other very useful information. Do yourself a favour and don't skip this experience. :)

Various types of vehicles and colours to choose from. If you really want to enjoy Tuscany’s landscape go see intake tours. Whether you want to get a Vespa, A Fiat , or vw bus they have a lot more options that I am forgetting . The experience will be unforgettable. Seeing the shop how Pristine and the passion that the owner has invested over the years is surreal.aThis is a must place to visit if you are in Tuscany

The owner was really nice, and the vintage Vespa was a cool experience. The surrounding area is perfect to explore on your own, or with the help of the guides. Make sure to visit the small towns in the area as they offer a lot of great food.
